Our Story
Gelectric was born out of a shared passion for the maritime industry and a deep understanding of its challenges. Our founders brought together years of experience from maritime engineering and IoT-driven software development, combining practical, hands-on know-how with innovative digital problem-solving skills. They saw firsthand how costly downtimes, inefficient processes, and growing environmental concerns were impacting vessel performance and profitability.
In 2021, the maritime industry entered a new era of regulation with initiatives such as EEXI and CII, soon followed by EU MRV, EU ETS, and FuelEU. For shipowners and operators, these changes brought both urgency and opportunity: the urgent need for smarter tools to ensure efficiency, meet new compliance standards, and minimize environmental impact, as well as the opportunity to modernize operations.
Recognizing this turning point, our team set out to build solutions that connect operational expertise with better data. The goal was simple: help owners and operators make more informed decisions, reduce avoidable downtime, and respond to compliance demands with greater confidence.
